Tryouts Information - The season officially kicks off with tryouts the week of August 7.
- Monday August 7th, 12pm-2pm on PHS Football Field; **Coach Ari is actively working on switching the time due to heat; Expect this to be a light day of tryouts if we stay 12-2pm.
- *Please arrive at 11:30am and gather on the track for us to distribute necessary tryout items and collect information essential to your success at tryouts.
- Tuesday August 8th, 6:30-8:30pm on PHS Football Field
- *arrive at 6:15pm to help set up field
- Wednesday August 9th, 6:30-8:30pm on PHS Football Field
- *arrive at 6:15pm to help set up field
- Thursday August 10th, 6:30-8:30pm on PHS Football Field
- *arrive at 6:15pm to help set up field
- Friday August 11th, 7:00-8:00am on PHS Football Field
- *arrive at 6:45am to help set up field
Team Selections (Varsity/JV) will be announced on Sunday, August 13th via email and posted on our website.

Athletic Clearance – Required for All New & Returning Players
Before they can step on the field, all Poway High Athletes MUST go through the Athletic Clearance process. The Athletic Office reopens July 31. Any athlete who turns their paperwork in the day prior or the day of try outs may not be approved. Registering is quick and easy and through Home Campus Registration
Once registered online, be sure to print out:
- Confirmation Message that both the parent/guardian and player will sign
- Athlete Pre-Participation Evaluation form (parent/guardian & player will fill out together)
- Physician Pre-Participation Evaluation form (to be filled out by a medical professional)
Once you have registered your player online, an email will be sent to the PHS Athletic Office. However! Your player is not cleared yet – you must turn in the signed confirmation message letter and the Athlete & Physician pre-participation forms to the PHS Athletic Office.
The athletic office reopens on July 31st. Please try to get your registration and physical evaluation done as soon as possible, so that you can turn in the forms on July 31st or that week. Please do not wait until the Friday before tryouts to turn in your forms!
