We are almost to our fundraising goal!

Hello Poway Field Hockey Players and Parents,

Good News! Because we have not reached our fundraising goal, Snap Raise is giving us the opportunity to extend our fundraiser through the weekend, ending on Monday. As of today, we have raised $2,644, just $356 shy of our intended goal of $3000. Lets all reach out one last time to the community, friends, and families to help Poway Field Hockey finish strong.  Remember your 100% tax deductible contribution will be used for much needed equipment and uniforms for both teams.

Field Hockey Week of September 21

Hi Field Hockey Players & Parents,

 
Congrats to both teams for a fantastic week! JV was victorious against Otay despite having so many girls sick or injured. Varsity had a great week as well, finally beating Fallbrook 2-0 during the Serra tournament. Varsity will be moving on to weekend two in the Serra tournament, which we are all so excited about! Once again, we are so proud of both teams for a successful week. We would also like to remind all the girls to please take care of their sick, injured bodies!! That means lots of water, carbs and protein, and stretching and ice baths!   -Coach Morgan & Coach Britt

UPDATE for Field Hockey week of Sept 14

Friday, September 18: Game @ Otay Ranch HS, Varsity @ 3:00pm / JV @ 4:15pm
release from class 12:30pm, bus departs 12:45pm
 
Athletes should notify their teachers that they need to leave class early on game days and make arrangements to make up any missed classwork.  On game day, athletes excuse themselves from class at the release time and quickly go to a nearby restroom to change into their uniform then meet the team in front of the school to ride the bus.  
 
Athletic bus schedules must run early so they can be back to school in time to run their usual after-school routes.  If an athlete has a test or other reason that they cannot ride the bus, please follow the directions on page 6, XI. C. of the Athletic Handbook.  The pass will need to be presented to the coach the day prior to the away game.

Hi Field Hockey Players & Parents,

We want to congratulate both teams on a fantastic week! Varsity has really shown a lot of talent and team work this week between their 10-0 victory against Mission Hills and coming in third at the Otay Ranch tournament. JV has had a solid week as well and is learning to really play as a team. They were victorious against Mission Hills, and learned a lot in the Serra tournament about commitment to their team. We thank all the girls and their parents for their hard work this past week!   -Coach Morgan & Coach Britt

Field Hockey week of September 7

Hi Field Hockey Players & Parents,

Our JV worked very hard this week and we saw so much improvement in certain aspects of our playing!  The girls are working very well together and have been applying what they have been learning into drills which is exciting for us to see!  We are looking forward to implementing last week's hard work into our games this week!
 
Congratulations to Varsity for making it to Day 2 of the Otay Tournament.  That is a huge step for our program from last year and we are excited to see how we compete next weekend.  Both of us coaches agreed that our team dynamic on the field is improving quickly and our fitness has allowed us to play at a faster pace.  Both of these factors will be a huge advantage to us this season.
 
Overall, we are very proud of both teams and are excited for the upcoming week!!!

Snap! Fundraiser

Hi  Parents,
 
We will be kicking off our Snap! Raise fundraiser on Friday.  Snap uses the power of social media with a safe, fun, and interactive approach to fundraising.  All we ask is that each parent/guardian help their athlete gather 20 or more email addresses of their biggest fans. The “Snap 20” sheet below provides examples and areas to write down the addresses. Your contacts are strictly private and protected.
 
Snap Fact Overview: 
1. Safe and Protected - Snap! Raise is the safest online platform available. All data is private and never redistributed, saved or used when a fundraiser ends. 
2. No Product Sales - athletes sell no product through the platform! Every effort is made through our own custom built program enhancement page and shared via Email, Facebook, Twitter and Text.  
3. Email Strategy - all supporters will receive a receipt for their donation. All gifts are tax deductible and include a personalized thank you from the athlete. There are three reminder emails sent to donors, with an option to unsubscribe. 
4. Reverse Flow- Snap’s platform and process is what makes their platform so successful. It allows for an extensive reach across communities by providing options to connect with multiple donors and their social networks. This helps to maximize our fundraising efforts. Here is an example of the Poway Lacrosse SNAP fundraiser: SNAP Fundraiser 
 
Please help your daughter gather the 20 email addresses on the attached form and return them to Coach Britt or Coach Morgan at practice on Wednesday evening.  They can also save these contacts in their phone to make input easier on Friday.
 
The girls will meet the coaches on Friday at 4:15 wearing their practice pennies and will participate in making a short video for the fundraiser.  They will use their cell phones to input the email addresses to the fundraising site.  Emails to the contacts will then be sent out with the short video.  
 
We hope this will be a successful fundraiser with all participating.  If you have any questions after watching the lacrosse video, please contact Lesley Flud at flud7@san.rr.com.
