Hello everyone,

Here is this weeks schedule:

Monday, 8/28- Practice 3:30-5:30 grass

Tuesday, 8/29- game @ PHS. JV arrive time 5 pm for field set up. JV game at 6:15.
Varsity arrive 6:15. Varsity game at 7:30.

Wednesday, 8/30– practice 6-8pm turf

Thursday, 8/31– practice 3:30-5:30 turf

Friday, 9/1– practice 5-7pm grass

It is going to be a hot week, please remember to get rest and stay hydrated!

FH Weekly Update Aug 21

As a reminder/info for the parents:

For away games–traveling on the bus–your daughter needs to inform the teacher of the class that they will be leaving at least one day before the game. We will always tell the girls what time they are supposed to leave class and bus departure time. The girls will have 15 minutes to go to the bathroom and change into their uniform and get to the bus. Always, change into the green skirt and black warm up shirt–they will change into game jersey after warm up/just before the game. Get to the bus as quickly as possible, as it will leave at the designated time. All girls that ride the bus to the game have to ride the bus back to PHS, unless they get a green pass from the Athletics office. In order to obtain the green pass you will need to write a note and have your daughter take it to Arlene Grosley in Athletics office–at least one day prior to the game–get the green pass and give it to the coaches the day before the game. The girls riding the bus will have to stay for both JV and Varsity games and ride the bus back. The only way not to have to ride the bus is with a green pass. If you want your daughter to ride the bus one way and have her ride with a parent one way, your note must specify whether she is riding one way or both ways.NO EXCEPTIONS PER PUSD POLICY. Sorry parents, without the green pass there is no exception, you will have to drive to PHS and wait for the bus to arrive. Please be considerate and always be at PHS on time to pick up your daughter so the coaches can go home. The bus leaves the away school and drives straight to PHS, no stops.

Please always remember to bring green skirt, black practice shirt, both home (white) and away (green) jersey tops, and both home and away socks to every game. There will be times when we may find the teams have to wear the home jersey at an away game. They will always wear the matching color socks to the jersey of the game. Always bring cleats, shin guards, mouth guard, goggles, stick, water and sunblock for field hockey.

This weeks schedule:

Monday, 8/21: practice 6:30-8am turf- Registration packets and spirit wear orders due- Uniforms will be issued after practice between 8-8:30am. Girls will need to try on uniforms at the school before they leave to make sure it fits–especially new girls/new #’s. Restrooms will be open. I will NOT have extra uniforms at the scrimmage or game and will not make exchanges before getting on the bus. Game days are hectic please be considerate. Anyone that does not want to ride the bus to Cathedral must obtain green slip from Athletics office on Monday and turn in to me before they leave practice. Arlene is there in the morning and the girls can get the pass after they get their uniforms and come right back to the field and turn in the green slip to me before going home. NO EXCEPTIONS PER PUSD POLICY.

Tuesday, 8/22: first scrimmage of the season– @Cathedral Catholic HS– V @ 3:30– JV @4:45– Bus will depart PHS at 1:35pm–please arrive and be ready to load bus before hand. Anyone that does not want to ride the bus must obtain green slip from Athletics office on Monday and turn in to me before they leave practice. Otherwise they must ride bus.

Wednesday, 8/23: home game v. Otay– V@ 6:15– JV@7:30– Players must arrive one hour prior to game start time, dressed and ready for warm up.

Thursday, 8/24: practice 3:30-5:30pm grass

Friday, 8/25: practice 3:30-5:30pm turf

FH Weekly Update Aug 14

This week we will have quite a few things going on as the beginning of the season is a little hectic. Each week by Sunday I will send out a FH weekly update with the weeks schedule and events. Our practice times will vary depending on games, coaches work schedules, field availability, school events, etc...

We do not have a room reserved yet for the parent meeting but should have that by tomorrow. The meeting will be on campus around 7pm,

please note the meeting will be on Thursday 8/17. I will send a message as soon as I get a room number.

We will try to get the uniforms distributed this week or by Monday the 21st, before next weeks scrimmage and game. Distribution will be before practice and take some team pictures as well. We will let the girls know.

Tuesday, 8-15: practice 5-7pm on grass

Hello everyone,

This week we are having a restaurant fundraiser for In The Mix frozen yogurt in Poway on Thursday November 3rd from 12Pm - 9Pm. Please see the attached flyer and send or post to all your friends. Flyer must be printed and presented at the time of order.

Reminder for the end of season banquet. Please print, RSVP and turn into Sophia Kallmann we need of how many people are attending including players. Player are free and guests are $25 each. EVERY player needs to RSVP.

Weekly schedule:

Monday, Oct. 31- JV practices 3:30-4:30 on the grass in costumes. Varsity practices 4:30-5:30 on grass.

Tues, Nov. 1- practice 6-8 PM on turf

Wed, Nov. 2- game v. Rancho Bernardo @ PHS. This is Senior night for our 4 seniors and will be held in between the JV and Varsity games. All JV girls will participate in senior night ceremony and stay for first half of Varsity game.

JV arrive at 5PM for set up. Games are at 6:15PM for JV and 7:30 Varsity.

Thurs, Nov. 3- Practice 3:30-5:30pm on turf. In The Mix fundraiser 12PM-9PM.

Fri, Nov. 4- Practice 3:30-5:30 on the grass

FH Weekly update October 24

Hello everyone,

This weeks update is filled with a lot of information. Please be sure to read it all.

Monday is our Field Hockey Wings n Things restaurant fundraiser. In the email is the attachment flyer for the event; please post and send out. Don't forget to drop your receipt in the group raise collection box at the restaurant the teams will only receive a portion of the receipts placed in the box.

Please don't forget we are in the last 7-10 days of our online fundraiser. If you have not input email addresses into your account please do so. If anyone needs help there is a phone number provided and they will walk you through step by step. Anyone that wants can also contact me for help.

In the weekly email is the attachment to RSVP for the end of season banquet. It will be held on December 5th, 6pm-9pm at the Rancho Bernardo Country Club. All players are admitted for free and guests are $25 per person. This is a fun event where the teams get dressed up and we get a chance to see everyone out of their field hockey apparel, eat dinner and dessert receive awards from the coaches and from their team captains as well.

Monday, 10/24- Practice 3:30-5:30PM on grass. Wings n Things fundraiser restaurant night.
Tuesday, 10/25- Practice 6-8PM on turf
Wednesday, 10/26- game vs. Westview at PHS. JV arrive at 5:00 for set up. Games are at 6:15PM JV and 7:30 Varsity.
Thursday, 10/27- Practice 3:30-5:30PM on grass. Bus green slips are due today!!
Friday, 10/28- game @ Del Norte. Games are at 3PM for Varsity and 4:15 for JV. Friday is a non-student day but there will be a bus provided to ride from Poway High and back. If you are not riding the bus you absolutely must provide a green slip excusing you from riding one or both ways by Thursday 10/27. At bus 1:15 leaving PHS at 1:30.

Please don't forget to bring both your game socks and pink socks for the games. Bring warm clothes/ jackets and Hydrate, Hydrate Hydrate!

FH Weekly Update October 17

I have assigned 1 Varsity and 1 JV player to bring items needed for the pizza party taking into account those who already participated in the last pasta party. I will assign the remaining players to the next pasta party.

Pizza- The team captains will be collecting $2 per player by Wednesdays practice in order to get pizza on Thursday.

FH weekly update October 10

End of Season banquet is fast approaching. I will be sending a separate email to those who signed up to be on the committee at registration. The banquet is a big production for the girls. Both teams enjoy and benefit from the banquet as well as parents. It consists of a lot of small tasks/jobs that all come together. If everyone helps out and does a little it can be easy and flawless. Any and all help is welcomed! If you are interested please reply and let me know. (first week of December)

Tuesday, 10/11- practice 6-8PM on turf

Wednesday, 10/12- game vs. Del Norte at PHS. JV arrive at 5PM for set up. Games are at 6:15 JV and 7:30 Varsity.

Thursday, 10/13- Games @ Rancho Bernardo HS. This is a non-bus away game.
****All players are responsible for their own transportation. JV arrive at 4PM. Games are at 5PM JV and 6:15 Varsity. ****

Hello everyone,

The teams practices will all be held on the turf field this week. They have two games and a Pasta party as well. Both teams will have their pasta party at the field right after the Wednesday practice. They usually last about 30 minutes.

We need volunteers from both teams to bring items to make the Pasta party a success. The two teams will each be responsible for their own pasta party items. Each item needs to have 2 volunteers (1 from JV and 1 from Varsity) Please reply to me as soon as possible so I can make sure all items are covered and will send out a reminder email Tuesday.
Below is a list of items needed:

Pasta-
salad & dressing-
fruit-
bread/bread sticks-
dessert-
beverages-
blankets to sit on-
paper goods(paper plates, plastic utensils, napkins)- Draskovich will bring for both teams.

This weeks Field Hockey schedule is:

Monday- 9/26- 4:30-6:30 practice on TURF
Tuesday- 9/27- release from class 1PM on bus at 1:15. Games @ Cathedral- Varsity 3:30 and JV 4:45.
Wednesday- 9/28- 6-8PM practice on TURF. Pasta party immediately after at field usually lasts 30 minutes.
Thursday- 9/29- release 2PM on bus at 2:15. Games @ Fallbrook. JV 4:30 and Varsity 6PM.
Friday- 9/30- 6-8PM practice on TURF

REMINDER: Parents please be at Poway High waiting to pick up your daughters as soon as we get back from the away games. The Bus leaves the away school and heads straight to Poway High. Coaches have to stay and wait for every girl to be picked up. They are long days for all. Thank you.
